Wild Tracks Weekend Photo Gallery

In September the IVR held its first family weekend at Wild Tracks, near Newmarket.

The activities on offer included karting, quad biking, 4 x 4 challenge plus laser clays and archery, in the evening the marquee based entertainment included live band, disco, Hog Roast and a well stocked pay bar.

Saturday afternoon saw the ever popular recovery demonstration led by IVR President Nick Ovenden, with casualties and vehicles supplied by IVR members from throughout the UK.
On the Sunday morning twenty two guys lined up for the final karting race of the weekend with Ben Hartell, Recovery Safe Training Services, narrowly beating Nick Ovenden to the chequered flag.
An ‘unplanned’ highlight of the weekend was Mark Hartell, Recovery Safe Training Services, having to be winched out of ‘very deep water’ after deciding to take his son’s 4x4 around the off road course.

The weekend proved to be a huge success and here are just some of the comments received by the IVR immediately following the event. It goes without saying that it will become an annual event on the recovery industry calendar – check out the photographs and make sure you don’t miss out next year!
‘Fantastic weekend. I wasn’t happy that my old man managed to get my car stuck by not listening to the advice I gave him but beating Nick Ovenden and winning the karting final  made up for it’. - Ben Hartell (Recovery Safe Training Services)

"I am sure that this event will be talked about for many months to come - especially the highlight of the weekend when Mark Hartell took his own 4x4 onto the course and managed to get himself stuck!. "The recovery demonstration was brilliant and we all held our breath as the lorry was winched over the shark infested lake!" - Cathie Chapman, Lantern

"Absolutely fantastic weekend for the first event of its kind. The whole family got involved and Aimee at only 15 has found her vocation in life, off-road driving in a Land Rover Discovery" - Paul Chapman, Lantern

‘Myself and Tony thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it was great value for money. The events we took part in were excellent, and a must do again!
Certainly with my other colleagues hearing about the weekend, I feel sure that they regret not coming along now’. – Ian Hand, Fleet Maintenance Manager, London Borough of Merton

'Loads of fun, well worth the journey down from Cheshire. See you guys again next year!' Tim Hughes, Tim Hughes Training Services (THTS)
