IVR member reaches for the sky!
Hertfordshire based IVR member Simon Price has taken the fight against dementia
to a higher level - by jumping out of an aircraft at 13,000ft, that’s 2.46 miles!
Simon, who made the jump on Saturday 22 October to raise funds for the
Alzheimer’s Society, began his adventure with a free-fall at 120mph before the
canopy opened for his mile long descent into the drop zone.
He explained;
‘I decided to take part in the challenge as I wanted to give something back to the
Society following its massive support for my family. My mother was diagnosed with
Alzheimers three years ago and unfortunately the disease will slowly get worse.
She nursed her own mother through dementia so knows only too well what the future
holds for her and the family.’
Simon, of Orchard Works Garage in Sawbridgeworth, paid for the tuition and jump
cost himself so all of the money raised, which currently stands at £1,310, will go to
the charity.
