ZUMBA for RISC

While IVR members attended the AGM several of their wives and partners took up

the challenge of a Zumba session to raise money for the recovery charity RISC.

The idea, like so many, came from the 'Ovenden stable' as Angie Ovenden was

trying to think of something a bit different for the ladies. When research showed the

IVR had its own in-house Zumba instructors, in the shape of Cheryl and Amy Bland,

the decision was made.

The session lasted about an hour and although there was no charge to take part

over £100 was raised for RISC through donations.

Cheryl and Amy are not only qualified Zumba instructors, they are also both qualified

personal trainers and aerobics instructors. The IVR would like to thank them both for

giving their time free of charge and for helping raise money for the charity.

Zumba, for those who don't know, is a dance exercise routine that involves dancing

to Latin American music, think Jennifer Lopez, it's rapidly becoming one of the UK's

most popular ways to keep fit.
